Molly's Happy Tail

molly2

Molly is a special rescue case. She was originally adopted out to a family in January 2012, and recently returned due to severe separation anxiety.
She had all the classic signs of separation anxiety. She would panic when left alone, which included pacing, panting and rubbing her nose raw on the wires of her crate.

Molly was returned to LVLR because the family that adopted her was unable to provide the specific care she needed. She came back to the rescue on medication (Xanax) to calm her, but it really was not a solution for her anxiety, only a band-aid. She needed extensive help.

Molly came into foster care and was placed with the "Buck-White" clan and immediately fell into a safe haven where she could begin her rehabilitation. First off, began the careful weaning off of her anti-anxiety medication, and the start of  an exercise and training program to aid in easing her anxiety. She also had 3 foster siblings to help keep her active.  Barklay, Tucker and Oliver.

It was not long before Molly's anxiety lessened and she became a mascot for the rescue. She attended board meetings, BBQ's and rescue social events. All the exposure helped Molly to adapt and helped to lessen her anxiety. She also got to attend a few "Sit Means Sit" training sessions with our LVLR President Dave.

Her final social event as a rescue dog, was a BBQ hosted by the O'Dell Family; Bob and Suzanne. They are huge supporters of LVLR, and seasoned rescuers themselves. They have adopted 2 Labradors from LVLR; Sunday and Zak, both yellow labs.

Suzanne and Bob fell in love with Molly immediately, and started the adoption process so that she could become a permanent member of their family.

So, Molly is now home! We look forward to hearing many updates about Molly and her siblings! Here they are pictured from Left to right (Zak, Molly & Sunday).
