Chloe's Happy Tail

Hi, My name is Chloe,

Photobucket

I am a 1 year old yellow labrador female. I was a rescue that took great effort on the part of my rescue Angels.
In fact, I have several angels including Melissa (from Roosevelt, UT), Kelli (RSQ Dogs), Angelle, Julie H., Melinda and Kimberly B. They all worked very hard to send not only me, but another Labrador named Lucky to Nevada and LVLR.
The rescue thinks I have had a rough life so far, I most likely had 2 litters of puppies, and the puppies may have been taken away before I could finish weaning them. But I feel safe now, I have visited the vet and they completed a procedure so that I can relax and not be used for breeding anymore, and I can be loved for who I am. I got to stay briefly in foster care with Mike, Clay and their doggies. I did not get to play much because I was recovering from my surgery, but I did get to snuggle, and a girl could get used to this! I was adopted by the Jacques Family, and I will never have to worry again about having a warm place to sleep and will have all the hugs and kisses I want.

Tony's Happy Tail

Photobucket

My name is Tony, and I am the brother of Bob. We are 15 month old yellow Labradors. We were owner surrenders because our family felt that they did not have the time that it would take to train and take care of us, especially me, I am high energy and can be a little naughty if I am not challenged or trained. I like to counter surf and dig a little bit in the backyard. I also did not realize that the chair pads on the patio chairs were not meant for chew toys. But I am kind hearted and I catch on very quick. I am also very athletic, I love to swim and jump over most everything, including my foster dog friend Bella.

Here we are together after a day of play. I am on the left.

Photobucket

I was not in foster care very long before a family saw me online and fell in love with me. They even came to one of the LVLR fundraisers to meet me. They have been looking for a lab to complete their family, and so I have a forever home with the Burlison Family.

Bob's Happy Tail

Hi, My name is Bob,

I am an owner surrender along with my brother Tony. We are both 15 months old. Even though it was reported that I was the more wild of the two, I have been very well behaved at my foster families home. I got to stay with Dave and Denise and their dogs for a few days until I could go to my forever home with the Graham Family.

Molly's Happy Tail

Hi, My name is Molly,

Photobucket

I am a 2 year old yellow Labrador female. I was an owner surrender, and I got to stay at the home of foster mom Melissa while LVLR found a forever home for me. It was not long at all before I caught the eye of a former rescue Mom, Crissy. She thought I would fit perfectly into her family, so off I go to my forever home.

Winchester's Happy Tail

Hi, My name is Winchester (AKA Chester), and I am a 3 year old yellow lab male. I am an owner surrender. Apparently, I was trained for hunting, but I tended to be a little rough mouthed, and I would not bring the duck back in one piece. So, here I am. I get to stay with Mike and Clay, and their two wonderful labs Tucker and Barclay!

Photobucket

I am told that I am a great snuggler. I think I am part lap dog, not lab dog. As you can see by the picture below. I fit nicely on just about any lap, and I will even put my head on your shoulder.

My foster family was so impressed with me that they introduced me to their friends, and one fantastic family fell in love with my charm and good looks. I even have a 3 year old human sister! Isn't life wonderful?

JULY 2012 UPDATE

From Winchester's Forever Family: We took Winchester up to our cabin in Utah for the first time this weekend. We knew he would love it, but I think we underestimated how much he would love being outside with no leashes or fences. He chased frisbees for two solid days, and fell asleep with a thud every night.

He's SUCH a good boy I'm so glad he's part of our family!

Barkley's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi,
I am Barkley, (AKA, Chocolate Moose). I am 15 months old. I was an owner surrender from NV. Do you think maybe my owner was not prepared for my rather large size? In spite of my size and young age, I am very gentle and calm. Don't get me wrong, I can run and when I do, my strides are very large!

Photobucket

But there are positives to my large size as well. I am built in security for the family who adopts me.

I enjoyed being picked up by my foster dad Dave, he was very patient when teaching me how to climb out of his car. My foster family provided me with plenty of exercise and love.

I attracted attention everywhere I went. It was not long before I attracted the attention of LVLR volunteers Todd and Susan. They thought I would make a great addition to their family.

I will miss my time with Mack, Vader and Jazmyn!

I am starting 2012 off with a new family and a new forever home

Annie's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi,
My name is Annie and I am 11 months old. I was an owner surrender from a family in UT. I was excited to travel to NV and spend my 1st Birthday with my foster mom Melissa. She took great care of me. I even got to go to work with her. I don't know why it is called work, I got to lay around on a soft pillow and be pet by everyone who passed. A dog could get used to this!

Photobucket

I got to stay with Melissa and play with her dog Dakota for awhile before LVLR found me a forever home.
I am excited!

Love,
Annie

Bonnie's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi Everyone,
I am Bonnie. I am 3 years old. I was rescued from a shelter in Utah. I am so grateful to LVLR for giving me a second chance to be a good pet. Can you see my smile?

Here I am so happy to be leaving the shelter.

Photobucket

Once I got to NV I was taken to stay with my foster family Todd and Susan. They were very patient with me.

It was not long after that I found my forever home. What a Happy New Year this will be!

I am home!

Love,
Bonnie

Lance's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi,
My name is Lance and I am 1 1/2 years old. I was rescued from a shelter in UT by my rescue Angel Melinda. She knew what a wonderful pet I would be if only I was given a second chance. I stayed with Melinda for a week before arriving at LVLR.

I was lucky, after I was transported to NV, I got to stay with 2 foster families. I guess I had a few bad habits that Todd and Susan would not tolerate, so they brought out the "Big Guns" Dave and Denise. It seems they have had some experience with young guys like me. I even got a lesson from Sit Means Sit on how I should respect  my handler even when I sooooo much want to go and play with other dogs.

Photobucket

I guess I learned my lessons well, because Dave and Denise let me play with their dogs too.
Here I am with Vader. Can you tell us apart?

Photobucket

It was not long before I was adopted! And I am so lucky, my new dad is a firefighter, so he and I stay fit by taking daily runs together.

I am so happy to be home,

Love, Lance

Another Coco's Happy Tail

Hi,
My name is Coco and I am 1 years old. I am not to be confused with Marci's sister Coco. I came into the rescue after the sisters did. All 3 of us came from UT.
I was in a shelter in UT, when someone found out how lovable and valuable I was. So I got to hitch a ride to NV and stay with my foster parents Clay and Mike for a spell. They were great to me, and they had 2 labs of their own that I could play with. I am the fast one with the ball.

Photobucket

It did not take long for me to fall in love with a family that would become mine. They had even arranged for me to have a playmate, Sissy. I love the Howe Family xoxo.

Photobucket

So, as you can see I am very happy that someone noticed my potential and saved my life.

I am home,

Love Coco

Coco's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi, my name is Coco, and I am a 4 year old chocolate lab female.  I was an owner surrender with my sister Marci. We came from a shelter in Utah. We have a lot of love left , and our Rescue Angel Kimberly saw this. Together with HART, they were able to make sure that LVLR was notified and arrangements were made for Marci and I to go into foster homes in Nevada.

I loved my foster home with Dennis and Juanilla. I made it hard for them to give me up. I am a good girl, and this paid off because a fabulous trainer named Matt  from Sit Means Sit saw my potential. I got to go by airplane to Detroit to be with my new owner and establish my forever home.

I was taken to the airport by Dave and Denise, another fabulous foster family with LVLR. Here I am at the airport in LV NV awaiting my flight to Detroit.

Photobucket

And here I am on the other end of the flight with my new owner Matt.

Marci's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi,
My name is Marci, and I am a 7 year old black female Labrador. I was an owner surrender along with my "sister" Coco to a shelter in Utah that has a reputation of euthanizing a lot of dogs. I am not sure what this word means, but it can't be good. Our foster Angel Kimberly and HART helped get us out of the shelter and organized our transportation to Nevada and LVLR.

I will be going to stay with Melissa, my foster mom. She has her own Labrador Dakota, so I will have someone to play with. This way I won't be sad that Coco and I will be in separate foster homes and being adopted separately.

My foster Mom says that I love to snuggle and be close to her. This may be because I have missed having human contact. She has also introduced me to her cats and helped me to learn how to walk on a harness.

It was not long before I was adopted by Frank. I am so happy to have a forever home.

I am home,

Andy's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi,

My name is Andy and I am a 2 year old yellow Labrador. I am from a shelter in Utah. I am not sure how I ended up there because I have been told I am extremely loving and friendly. I love to play with other dogs and kids, and even some cats. I know many commands and I am both house trained and crate trained.

I know all this information because Dave and Denise my foster parents have made a list of my positive characteristics so that they can find me a happy home.

They also told me that I am a little overweight, ( 105 lbs) so they are monitoring what I eat and making sure I get plenty of exercise. This is not difficult since they have 4 dogs of their own for me to play with.

It was not long before Dave and Denise took me to meet Bill and his family. I have found my forever home and I am very happy there. You can tell by the picture below, I am fitting right in!

Murphy's Happy Tail (formerly Frankie)

Photobucket

Hi,
My name is Frankie. I was an owner surrender. I am not sure about my history. Why was I given up ? But I do know that it was not my fault. I am a lovable dog, and I know this because I hardly got into the LVLR before a foster family adopted me. Ann and Shane were looking for a Labrador to make their family complete, and they chose me!

They were so happy to have me, and I was so happy to be with them.

I am home,

Murphy

Sunday's Happy Tail

Photobucket

Hi,
My name is Sunday and I am a yellow Labrador female about 2 years old. I am yet another case of owner surrender. My owner loved us ( I had a Great Dane companion too), but he had lost our home because of something called a "poor economy" and could not keep us in their apartment because when I was left alone I howled. The neighbors did not enjoy my howling. My owner tried to keep us in the backyard of a foreclosed home until he could make other plans, but we got out and animal control picked us up. It was a very stressful time for me.

My owner asked a friend to help him re-home us, so  LVLR was contacted. I was picked up and taken to a vet to make sure I was healthy, and then I was picked up by my new foster family. I liked my foster home. I had a "foster sister" named Bella to play with. We played 22 hours out of the day. I get along with all dogs and guinea pigs too! I am very well behaved.

I was in foster care for only 1 week before I was adopted by Suzanne and Bob. They love Labradors and they already had 2 dogs at home so they knew how to care for me. My siblings are Chardonnay and Shasta. We play in the house and yard constantly.

I heard my owner say that she is going to teach me how to be a therapy dog. I look forward to visiting patients at the Nathan Adelson Hospice. This picture was taken to celebrate The New Year 2012. I am in the middle, Chardonnay on left and Shasta on right.

I am home,

Jack's Happy Tail

Photobucket
Hi,
My name is Jack and I am from Idaho. I am 7 months old, and have spent all of those 7 months in an Idaho shelter. I don't remember how I got there, or why my family did not want me. I just know I have potential to be a very good dog. I like to wiggle and wag my tail, I think this will help me to get adopted.

I think 7 months is long enough to spend in a shelter, and my tail wagging paid off, because a Rescue Angel at the shelter notified LVLR that I needed a home.

It took awhile for LVLR to organize my ride to Nevada from Idaho, but as soon as this was done, I was on my way. I was not in foster care very long before I received my wish, my very own family. I was adopted by Christine and her family. Now I am in a wonderful home and I even have a dog of my own to play with. No more shelter life for me!

Asha's Happy Tail

Photobucket

My name is Asha, and I am a 3 month old black female labrador mix. I came to LVLR because my owner did not have the time to help me learn how I should behave. I am a puppy, so if not given guidance. I can get into a little bit of trouble. I don't always know the difference between a leather shoe and a rawhide bone, they sure smell the same and these puppy teeth of mine are kind of achy. I want to chew on something!

A Rescue Angel named Laura heard about me, and helped me to find my way to LVLR. I got to stay in the home of Dennis and Juanilla. They were great with me. I received plenty of hugs and kisses and I had fellow doggies to play with. I learned the difference between shoes and bones and they helped me to learn basic commands.

I got to attend adoption events and soon I was discovered by my new parent, Jenel. I am happy that someone was able to see my potential as a companion and now I am on my way to my forever home.

Thanks LVLR for helping me to get home,

Love,
Asha
